This 13 gallon medium toast French oak barrel is hand made from selected premium French oak from Central France by the cooperage of Tonnellerie Vernou. The staves are air-dried for 24 months. They are handcrafted by skilled French coopers in the traditional method. Sweet, toasted almond and caramel flavors are imparted to the wine as the result of air-dried oak toasted on open fires. No green wood or aggressive oak overtones from this barrel. Ships with a complete instruction sheet. A work of art. Barrel measures 25 inches tall (on end) and is 13.5 inches in diameter at the heads.
