This 29 gallon medium toast French oak barrel is hand made from selected premium French oak from Central France by the cooperage of Tonnellerie Vernou. The staves are air-dried for 24 months. They are handcrafted by skilled French coopers in the traditional method. Sweet, toasted almond and caramel flavors are imparted to the wine as the result of air-dried oak toasted on open fires. No greenwood or aggessive oak overtones from this barrel. Ships with a complete instrucion sheet. A work of art. This barrel measures 31 inches tall (on end) and 17.5 inches in diameter at the heads.
