Our American Blonde Ale recipe has a moderate sweet, malty, toasty flavor coming from Pilser, biscuit, aromatic, and honey malts. Cascade hops balances the malty sweetness and provides a bit of citris flavor and aroma. An excellent summer quaffing ale! Commerical examples are Belhaven Scottish Ale US and McEwans's Export.
The kit uses 6.6 lbs malt syrup, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, priming sugar, Safale s-04 dry yeast, Whirlfloc Tablet, and instructions. It requires a 45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1272. Anticipated SG 1.052, SRM 7, IBU 28, and 5.2% ABV.
